Beiderbeckes Hotel is not large (only 27 super rooms) but its standards bear favourable comparison with any equivalent hotel and many much larger ones. It's a hotel but its cuisine is far removed from the institutional fare offered by many of its competitors. The hotel takes its name and inspiration from Jazz cornetist Bix Beiderbecke. The hotel, although not large, has some outstanding features. The hotel is ideally situated right in the heart of Scarborough, sited within a stones throw of the commercial, administrative, theatre and resort districts of the town. Moreover, as the hotel has its own car park, guests are able to avoid the worst of Scarborough's congestion. Throughout 1999 the hotel was completely renovated, modernised and restored. This refurbishment programme has affected every aspect and feature of the hotel, from the attic to the cellar. And now after all the trials and tribulations associated with such a radical building and remodelling exercise, the hotel is complete.
