Renowned as being the oldest church in Britain, the foundations of this church are pre-Norman and were founded by the Earl of Siward. The present church dates from the 14th Century with 18th Century restoration after the Civil War damage. St Olaf is the patron saint of Norway so the church has strong links with Nordic culture and is a popular attraction for Norwegian tourists.
