The Frog and Bucket started life as a small city centre pub on Newton Street Manchester in 1993. Peter Kay did one of his first ever stand up gigs at the 'little frog' but comedy rapidly began to take over the entertainment programme of the boozer, and in May 1996 the Perkin family finally admitted that they'd outgrown the pub they loved so much. They took over what was then a Yates's venue and started to build the Frog & Bucket, which still maintains some of its raw heritage and gives it its legendary atmosphere, attracting some of the best comedians from around the world.
